Do I need to get two or three estimates?

No. The fact is it is your choice on how many estimates you get, you only need one.

 

Do I have the right to take my car to the shop of my choice?

Yes. The fact is it is you as the owner are the only one who can authorize repairs to your car.

 

Should I use my own collision coverage instead of the other parties insurance?

In most cases it is faster and more economical to use your own collision coverage even if it's not your fault.

 

Who is responsible to the repair shop for the bill, me or the insurance company?

You. The fact is your are responsible for the repairs. Your contract with your insurance company states that they are responsible to pay you the amount of the damage minus your deductible.

 

Who is responsible for the guarantee and workmanship for the repairs to my car?

The fact is the repair shop is responsible. If your repairs are not satisfactory contact the owner of the body shop to arrange a settlement.
